POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Title: Sr Manager/Associate Director, CRM & Commercial Systems

Reports to: Director, Field Planning & Analytics

 

General Scope and Summary

SAGE Therapeutics is searching for a creative, resourceful, integrative thinker for an important role that is responsible for the creation, implementation and ongoing ownership of the Commercial CRM system. This individual is expected to provide leadership regarding relationship management, project/program management, business process/analysis, quality and compliance. This role will require active partnership with stakeholders across Commercial functions to understand the capabilities required by the business and gather all internal requirements to develop specifications that support sales and marketing strategy. This individual will also participate in the development of the Commercial Data Warehouse, including the implementation of third party data sources and the data aggregator.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the effective assessment, development, delivery, and usage of Sage’s CRM application for the Field Sales team
  • Provide end user support and maintain dashboards, reports, user roles, security, profiles, workflow rules, etc. while integrating the team’s business needs into Veeva CRM
  • Maintain data integrity through influence and collaboration with IT, Commercial Operations, and proper field training of CRM usage and inputs
  • Design, develop and execute training of the CRM system to the field sales team
  • Gain alignment on appropriate reporting needs and ensure generation by coordination with IT and commercial partners
  • Coordinate and provide KPI tracking for performance.       Manage field-related inquiries regarding account and HCP assignments, sales plans, etc.
  • Provide support to the field sales organization through ad-hoc analyses that may be needed to help facilitate field execution of sales and brand direction/strategy
  • Maintain a roadmap for projects to aid planning, communication and expectation management within the business
  • Design functional specifications for system enhancements, partnering with stakeholders on requirements and IT to develop appropriate technical solutions
  • Develop effective and collaborative relationships across all relevant functions in the organization, centered around field support
  • Interface closely with IT and other key user groups in the development and execution of the Commercial Data Strategy Roadmap (i.e. data warehouse, CRM and data aggregator) and routine system enhancements
  • Ensure seamless integration of all third party data sources across multiple platforms

 

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.

  • BA or BS required
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a sales operations or sales reporting role within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries
  • Experience with SalesForce.com/Veeva CRM is required
  • Advanced knowledge & application of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) 
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities 
  • Results oriented, self-organized and self-starter, proven track record of results 
  • Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders. An ability to influence for greater outcomes
  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution oriented
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors
