    Title: Senior Manager/Associate Director

    Reports to: Vice President, Corporate Communications

    General Scope and Summary

    Sage is searching for a creative and experienced Senior Manager/Associate Director of Digital Communications to join its expanding corporate communications team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving performance and execution across all digital media channels for the Sage, including working successfully with cross-functional partners and key stakeholders throughout the company (e.g., commercial, medical, legal/regulatory, clinical).

    The position requires an individual who can work productively in a fast-paced, deadline driven, fully-matrixed team environment and is confident in their ability to provide thoughtful and strategic communication counsel to all levels within the organization. This is a unique opportunity for a candidate who is looking to both execute a metrics driven communications campaign that is focused on achieving value-added business results while also creating the policies and protocols that will serve as the foundation for current and future digital initiatives.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute digital strategies that add to Sage’s social media following and enhance its corporate reputation
    • Ensure consistent messaging, tone, and visual cohesiveness across Sage’s digital/social assets
    • Oversee Sage’s corporate website, collaborating with content owners, to manage user experience, content, and the seamless pull-through of social media posts on internal social media tools
    • Partner with the communications team, product social media managers and cross-functional business partners to identify ways to integrate social media into business strategies, science, corporate social responsibility efforts (CSR), human resources and public awareness efforts
    • Create and manage a calendar of social media activity
    • Maintain vigilant social listening to monitor competitor activity, respond to trends
    • Maintain and develop social media metrics, analytics and reporting with clearly defined performance metrics;
    • Educate and advise employees on how to leverage social media effectively and compliantly
    • Evaluate new social media and digital channels/technologies

     

    Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and SkillsThe successful candidate will have:

    The successful candidate will have

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with significant experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders;
    • Outstanding time management and organizational skills;
    • Ability to execute on multiple activities and meet aggressive deadlines;
    • Strong skills of persuasion and ability to direct cross-functional activities to successful conclusion;
    • An exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors;
    • Strong team player who is solution-oriented;
    • Issues preparedness experience within digital channels;
    • Working knowledge of FDA regulations as applied to the communications of investigational and marketed drugs a plus;
    • BS/BA with 5-7 years of experience in corporate/digital communications, including in-house role at pharma or biotech company or healthcare agency experience (experience in women’s health and/or mental health a plus);
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of running organic and paid content via social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.);
    • Extensive online listening experience, including popular platforms
    • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and maintain composure in high-pressure situations with short turnaround times is required
    • Expert judgment in critical decision-making on issues impacting reputation is required
